Here is a simple guide on how to update kodi, it can become very annoying with the remote as you can see in the video, but the installations guide was pretty much in real time. The KODI build that you will install afterwards require at a minimum KODI 16.1 and soon to be 17.0 Krypton. This will still be the same process on how to update your boxes. I will also be doing a guide on the Firestick too so if interested please comment below.
Remember NOT to update to 17.0 prior to the developers telling you that the build is compatible, else you will run in to MANY problems and you will have to reinstall 16.1 again.
So that was all, hope you found this short video useful, let me know if you have any issues.
Here is some information on KOD 17.0 original source can be found here https://kodi.tv/download/
Development builds: Kodi v17.0 “Krypton” early access (beta & nightly)
These development builds, often called “pre-release” builds, are what will eventually lead to the final v17 version.
THESE BUILDS ARE OFTEN UNSTABLE and are only for users that do not fear bugs or crashes. They are mainly used for development to help us in testing for the upcoming releases. If you want a stable HTPC then please install a stable build instead. Always backup before using a development build.
Monthly snapshots are semi-stable nightly snapshots of the current development version. They are a step between (often) unstable nightly builds and stable release builds, though they can sometimes still be very unstable.
Nightly builds are made on a daily basis and contain the most recent changes. These should be considered unstable for daily usage and should only be used for to help us find possible issues to provide more stable monthly builds and in the end a stable final release.
